In this workshop we examine the needs of organisations for policies and procedures. We aim to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to identify what is required for their organisations. By the end of the session we expect participants to be able to adapt policies and procedures to meet their needs, to understand how policies and procedures support quality assurance, to carry out policy review and to know where to go for further help.

Handling difficult performance or sensitive staff situations is a problem which faces all growing and established businesses at some point. These can range from unacceptable levels of sick absence through sensitive personal problems to poor levels of performance.
 
The purpose of the workshop is to reassure businesses that staff problems and issues can be managed like other risks and the likelihood of damaging costs reduced. The workshop also includes the practical skills and knowledge for dealing with problems effectively.

This course is ideal for the smaller workplace, presenting few health and safety risks. The appointed person will be able to take charge in case of illness or accident. A certificate of attendance will be issued which remains valid for three years. There is a strong recommendation from the Health and Safety Executive to do an annual refresher.

This training course will enable interviewers to conduct interviews which really identify the skills and abilities of interviewees and their suitability for the job. This participative session will provide interviewers with practical tips, techniques and experience to make enable them to reach successful recruitment decisions.
 
Who should attend:
 
The course is for individuals with responsibility for recruitment or who are involved in recruitment interviewing.
 
As a result of the workshop, you will:
 
  • structure interviews to obtain the information needed to judge a candidate's capability
  • use practical techniques in questioning and listening to ask the right questions and to understand what the candidate is really saying
  • understand and use body language skills in interviewing
  • understand the main 'Dos' and Don'ts' of employment legislation in the context of interviewing.
